What are the potential trends facing us when we get back to the “new” normal?

What are people looking forward to after we get back to normality in the coming months? Recent Kantar research highlights consumers desires and these can provide insights into brand messaging as we return to the “new” normal.

 

Out of home socialising

65% of people surveyed are looking forward to dining out and gathering with friends. 58% are looking forward to getting back to out of home shopping and 55% looking forward to out of home entertainment.

 

Travel and tourism 

45% of people are looking forward to getting away and being able to travel again.

 

Personal care and beauty 

20% of people are looking forward to a trip to the hairdressers or go for a manicure whilst 16% want a massage/sauna.

 

Exercise and fitness

Having been confined for so long, getting in shape and returning to the gym is key for a lot of people. 53% are looking forward to outdoor exercise and sports.19% are looking forward to losing weight and getting back in shape while 14% are craving exercise classes.
